AJ Michalka is an American musician, performer, artist and model popular as the half of the group 'Aly and AJ. They perform together with her sister Aly Michalka. AJ Michalka was raised in Torrance, California. Her mother Carrie was a talented musician. AJ spent her early childhood mostly in Torrance as well as Seattle. The sisters were young when they began playing the piano and guitar. By the time they stepped into the teen years, they were well-versed in their domain. AJ was just five years old at the time she began performing in church plays. AJ was also involved in her school's musical productions. AJ began her professional career in acting as an 11 year old child in the show 'Passions'.
